Mugoya Swaliki is the heart of HOCT’s work on the ground. Growing up as an orphan himself, Mugoya understands firsthand the challenges vulnerable children face. He graduated from Kampala University, where he studied Social Work and Development, and has dedicated his life to helping children overcome poverty and hardship.

Mugoya oversees all on-site operations in Idudi, including:

• Distribution of donated funds
• Enrolment of children into school
• Monitoring children’s academic and personal development
• Providing access to medical care
• Coordinating daily activities, emergency responses, and community projects

His integrity, leadership and personal experience make him an invaluable guide for both the children and the sponsors who support them.

Veronica Anghelescu Drölma

CEO — HOCT Romania & International Coordinator

Veronica Anghelescu Drölma brings structure, vision, and international support to HOCT. She graduated from the National University of Music in Bucharest, Romania, and holds two doctoral degrees. Professionally, she works as a software engineer at Société Générale, combining analytical skills with a deep commitment to humanitarian work.

As CEO of HOCT Romania — the partner organisation working hand-in-hand with HOCT Uganda — Veronica manages:

• Financial coordination and accountability
• Identification of new sponsors
• Fundraising campaigns and donor communications
• International donations and financial transfers
• Administrative and operational support for the entire HOCT structure

Veronica personally sponsors three children and covers the administrative expenses of the foundation, ensuring that donor funds reach the children directly and transparently.

Working Together

Mugoya and Veronica are colleagues, best friends and dedicated work partners. Their collaboration is built on trust, complementary skills and a shared vision. Together, they ensure that HOCT functions smoothly, grows sustainably and maintains complete transparency.

They pioneered a unique model: each sponsor is paired with one child, allowing donors to see immediate, tangible results: what was bought, how the child is doing, and how their support is transforming a life.

• Send and receive letters
• Have video calls
• Build a heartfelt long-distance relationship with their sponsored child

Through their teamwork and with the generosity of donors around the world, Mugoya and Veronica work tirelessly to feed, protect, and educate more children every month.
